Our captain has over 35 years of experience skippering in the Pacific Northwest and is highly knowledgeable about the area, ensuring that our guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience. Captain Cy Evans has spent his entire life on the water. Growing up in Ketchikan, Alaska, he gained a wealth of knowledge navigating the waters of the Southeast Alaska region, running his family's charter business from a young age. He spent 15 years living on his father's 90-foot charter boat, gaining invaluable experience in fishing, boating, and navigating.

Cy's passion for the water only grew stronger with time. Over the years, he has spent more than 35 years exploring the waters of Puget Sound, fishing for salmon, halibut, and ling cod, and anchoring in the beautiful coves of the San Juan Islands. He has owned numerous boats over 30 feet in length and has logged countless hours on the water.

For Captain Cy, every day on the water is a new adventure, filled with endless possibilities and opportunities for excitement. His love for the water and his extensive experience make him the perfect captain for True North Charters LLC. Guests can be sure that they are in good hands with Captain Cy at the helm, and can expect to have a fun, new, and safe experience on the open waters of Puget Sound.

Hailing from Anchorage, Alaska, James grew up fishing on the renowned Kenai River for salmon and exploring the bountiful waters of Homer, Alaska, in pursuit of halibut. James' deep connection to the Alaskan wilderness and his passion for the outdoors make him an exceptional leader and guide.

James' educational background further enhances his abilities. He holds a bachelor's degree in Digital Arts & Design from Full Sail University in Orlando, FL. With a strong foundation in multimedia design and web design, James brings a creative and innovative approach to managing the True North Charters website. His expertise ensures that the website not only captures the breathtaking experiences offered by the company but also provides a user-friendly interface for guests to explore and book their dream adventures.
